I quite enjoyed the ending and some other parts too but at large it's not really my thing. I sometimes enjoy the relationship between the main characters. It has some elements that I really like, but there is too little to build on for me. There is almost no non-sexual intimacy between them and they barely converse with each other which weakens my belief in the relationship and therefore also my interest. The basis is there but it just isn't as developed as I'd like.

The rape scenes are also, not getting to me exactly, but it's so frequent that I feel it's borderline trivializing. It's not exactly dealt with in any substantial way as of yet. Rape is more used to convey the awfulness of the people who do it as well as the strength of the victims which is like.... hmm...

Overall I liked it better than the first book but this is not really something I gravitate towards. However, it is very compulsively readable so I'm still going to finish the series.
