I love when there's a law enforcement guy and he gets paired up with a secret supernatural creature to solve a case. Chase ends up on desk duty after his partner catches a case of the wrong place, wrong timesies. In a way that didn't feel sanctioned by the Chicago PD at all, Eric starts taking Chase out into the field with him and ends up involved with some other bad vamps.

I thought the whole situation that happened at city hall seemed a little rushed but all in all, I didn't mind it. With how the story was going, there was only one way through for Chase and I'm glad he got to make his own choices. I very much appreciated that there was no room for reconciliation with Miguel. He was the second worst in this book next to Chase's father.

I got a kick out of this. It had a fairly heavy paranormal story line but was still romantic and whatnot. I squawked out loud when a New Orleans werewolf showed up. Give me more about him.
