Nobody's Victim: Fighting Psychos, Stalkers, Pervs, and Trolls by Carrie Goldberg
3.0
Well. Deeply upsetting.
I think I was hoping for something a little more dry and dense (for once) - I found both the pink-hat-girl-power perspective and the "psycho a$$hole freak stalker behavior" phrasing grating. A lot of my favorite parts were up front, in detailed descriptions of the systematic failures/ignorance of websites refusing to act on patterns of abuse of their systems. The stories after that tended to meld into one big "this horrible thing happened, it was unconscionable what this pervert asshole psycho did, well turns out there aren't laws to address it." Which isn't incorrect! But it was a lot, and I would have been more interested in a more nuanced discussion about FOSTA/SESTA, international privacy law differences, and so on.
