This book is repeatedly touted as "the Muslim Bridget Jones." Fortunately, I found Sofia a bit easier to stomach than Bridget. I can definitely see the similarities, and those tended to be the things that pulled me out of the book a bit - the fact that Sofia didn't seem great at her job and yet somehow kept bumbling through and how focused on herself she was.
However, I found Sofia a lot more charming and that really redeemed her. The story was cute and fluffy and honestly I was surprised by some parts, which is rare in a romance! I had a lot of fun with this - it's not an incredibly deep and thoughtful read, but that's not what I was going for.
