Hannah and Mona work at a 24 hour cafe, are best friends and housemates. They are both working there whilst they audition for other jobs. Join them for 24 hours in the cafe, of which they both work a 12 hour shift, and see how much things can change in just one day.

The good thing about this book is all the side character's stories, I love little fly on the wall stories of everyday life. Mona and Hannah on the other hand I just could not like. Their friendship problems boiled down to poor communication, and honestly, I don't like the poor communication trope in romances, let alone in books about friendship where there really doesn't seem to be any growth in either character - though I suppose people don't really change that much in 24 hours.

I think it would have been *heavily* improved by getting their POV intertwined because each half is very one sided, but I know that may have been more confusing for the reader, but it would have made for a better reading experience. It could easily have switched between 1am and 1pm but I do understand this would have been harder to write. But it, as others have said, would have made the first half of Hannah's POV drag a lot less.

I think the author was trying to talk about how important friendship and kindness are but really, overall, this just missed the mark for me. Thank goodness for the slice of life customer parts otherwise this would have been even lower rated.
