After reading the Binding I was excited to read this from Collins but found it a bit harder to get into.
Once the initial difficulty passed I did find myself enjoying the book, but I’m still not sure I understand the world fully and I feel some of the secondary characters were redundant and didn’t actually add that much to the narrative.
I did like the ‘twist’ and the way the main characters paths ended. It wasn’t necessarily the happy end that you might expect, and I appreciate that.
