it was a decent quick read
The story, writing, and editing are good. The characters are fairly cliche for this type of story, and the plot is easily discerned. Older characters (40s and 50s) are still emotionally immature like in their 20s. It was great for a rainy day read when I didn’t want to put too much effort into reading a book, having just come off a heavy fantasy trilogy and needing some “fluff” reading.
