I’m honestly not quite sure how I felt about this and part of that is probably because it took me a million years to find the time to get through it. It’s a very short novella that would honestly probably be best consumed in just one or two sittings rather than multiple.
I will say if you are easily triggered by suicidal ideation or panic attacks, maybe stay away from this one.
Tiffany Morris is an incredible writer - her prose is beautiful and she does an amazing job putting us in Rita’s headspace. Somehow all of Rita’s somewhat disconnected, larger than life thoughts all felt somewhat reasonable. I really and truly felt like i could see the lake and its surroundings.
This novella had me feeling so many things that I don’t think I could actually put a name too, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this author for future books!
