Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs

4.0

A strong addition to the Mercy Thompson Series.

The kidnapping premise...is getting tired. I appreciate that Briggs attempts to remove the stereotypical aspect of this trope by constantly asserting that Mercy saves herself, and is never in fact "rescued". However, the repetition served only to remind me how annoying the trope is it's overuse.

This being said, this was a fun read. There's a fair bit of time spent with Mercy by herself; which allows for some lovely development. We learn a lot about Mercy's here-to unexplored skills related to ghosts, and how this power relates to her Coyote background.

Ultimately, if you like the other novels in this series, you will enjoy this instalment.
