The Tempest by William Shakespeare

2.75

this has all the bones of something i would like - complex, parallel narratives. stories of sea journeys and travel. a basic commentary on colonialism. but it just fell flat for me for some reason?

there was one scene where i was delighted by the banter and wordplay as i often am in shakespeare works, but that was really it. the rest i felt like i was sort of slogging through.

i'll revisit this some other time when my brain is better prepared for it and see if my opinion changes! (i'm sure it will tbh.)
