What Kind of Woman: Poems by Kate Baer

2.0

Overall, it just wasn't really my thing. But I did enjoy a few moments:
— the structure of "What I Meant," though I think doing the "you'll see someday" version would be more interesting
— "Moon Song," it's an ig pleaser for a reason
— the title / premise of "Deleted Sentences," which is also a pretty fun theme
— the ending of "Wedlock:" "Some nights we move together like two desperate creatures. Some nights we roll apart like two tired wives. We ask: Is it true you can be one thing then another? Is it true you can be loved anyway?"
— "Ode to My Desire:" "There is nothing like the impatient thrum of wanting. All legs and foaming mouth."
