Djevojčica koja nije voljela svoje ime by Elif Shafak

5.0

What a wonderful, heart-wrenching book! Elif Shafak is an incredible author and her books always leave me with some food for thought. Although this is a children's book, Shafak touches on some very important topics (e.g. self-esteem, bullying, reading, imagination, even climate change) through Pelargonia's (challenging) adventures. I wholeheartedly believe that her goal with this book was to cultivate empathy in young readers. We follow Pelargonia who embarks on an unforgettable journey where she finally gets to know her true self, others and she successfully learns several valuable lessons along the way. The book evoked pleasant memories of my childhood – reading is like falling into a rabbit hole (Storyland) that's crammed with surprises, glitter, rainbows, bunnies and so so much more. ❤
