Wawata - Moon Dreaming: Daily Wisdom Guided by Hina, the Maori Moon by Hinemoa Elder
3.25
Some useful insights, and like 'Aroha' a good coffee table book.
I could be the wrong audience but I thought the book was too self-help-y and... opinion based? I appreciate Elder is a clinical psychologist, but some of the "lessons from our tīpuna" seemed to be her interpretations of things, not too much was rooted in the opinions of Tohunga or other Mātauranga Māori practitioners. Also there is no one Māramataka. Every iwi has/had slight variations, and that nuance was not sufficiently caveated. Some more corroboration from other experts, or at least a disclaimer that this was only one person's interpretation of this would have been better.
