The Love Hypothesis, by Ali Hazelwood

4.0

Such a great read! It has just the right amount of romance and plot/character development, and you get to really know the characters on a deeper level. I appreciate the arc exploring the struggles of being a woman in a male-dominant field like STEM, and I thought it was done in a natural way.

My favorite side characters would be Malcolm and Holden, hands down. Not only were they great friends, but also great people (and great together).

As much as I like this book, I did not fall in love with it as much as others have, hence the 4* (ok, maybe a 4.5*) rating. It has the classics of a fake dating trope and is executed well, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table (aside from STEM content ofc) or anything that sets it apart from fake dating fanfics on the Internet. The smut scenes were also not my favorite and I dragged through them lmao. It doesn't mean that I won't remember a lot about this piece (it is very remarkable and iconic, thank you), but I just thought it wasn't exceptional enough for me. Though it's completely a me-thing.

Still, it's a strong book with lots of commendable points. It definitely lived to the hype for me. Would highly recommend!
