The Hollow is much slower than the previous book in the trilogy (Blood Brothers). It's main focus seems to be the blossoming romance between Fox and Layla with only some action thrown in. 

While they do make progress in the grand scheme of the plot it almost seems like an afterthought, not the main point. 

I am excited to see how the third book wraps things up.
