Spoilers:

It was a good read but I find Brown's bag of writing tricks small and limited. But at least a core person died with no tricks or ahas. Every time he pulls one of those his death scenes are cheapened. Let me mourn! Evoke emotion by killing them off for real!

Further, the fourth and fifth books in audio form were amazing. Though I was annoyed they changed Lyria's narrator, it gave more depth to the story. Reverting back to one was a disappointment. I posit it was because a narrator for Lyria couldn't do Faa's voice or altered voice. Overall a good book, could have been great. Pray to God he wraps it up in this next book. I can't handle any more recycled tropes.

You have all of space and future technology to play with. Use it for crying out loud.
