Just casually crying at work, no big deal.
First of all I am absolutely weak for soft sapphic romances and the adorable dorkiness that Tessa and Imogen share reminds me of a lot of the best friendships I've had throughout my life. I also strongly related to Imogen's constant fear that she was just behaving a certain way to make other people happy or like her. OOF.
I feel like Gretchen's character was maybe a little heavy handed in the pursuit of showing how demeaning and demoralizing it can be to have your budding understanding of your own sexuality completely invalidated (especially by someone you're close to) but given her (unfortunately common) history with bullying and homophobia, I understand why she was the way she was. I would have liked to see her actually grow and acknowledge how she completely steamrolled and invalidated Imogen and other queer characters but unfortunately we're not left with much resolution there.
And finally, Lili's entire group of friends gave me some of the most intense warm and fluffy feelings of my life. I know how amazing it feels to finally be in a place and a stage of life where you can be out and proud and build queer community and feel like you've known these people your whole life and getting to see Imogen and Lili experience that for the first time was so heartwarming.
