This was my first post-apocalyptic novel/series that included Zombies. I loved the premise and the characters but the second installment I didn't understand.. why were some of the dominant characters in the first novel completely left out of the second book? Why did Blue and other characters care to help Remy find Max? They made it their primary objective, to risk their lives, for what? There was no concrete, supporting evidence that Max or Remy could be answers to the epidemic yet Blue, for example, risked the safety of the quarantine to evacuate Max. The latter part of this second novel was hastily written and that saddens me. This series had a lot of potential but poor planning and development has stunted any future growth.
