This was very difficult to read, but it made me realize the harsh reality of the Syrian revolution that often goes unnoticed. I really appreciate novels that introduce me to something so different from the way my life is. And even though this one was pretty heartbreaking, the themes of hope left me believing that everyone would eventually get there. Someday.
