Dude was a tool. Seriously I hated Mason. My highlights and notes consist of fuck you’s, what a dick, and hoping he’d fall off a damn horse. He was selfish, rude, controlling and didn’t give a damn about her feelings.

“Linnet,” he said sounding frustrated. “Maybe we should try perfect silence after I’ve bedded you. Everything’s well, up until you start talking.”- 70% in and this is how he talks to her. Not only that but people are CONSTANTLY calling her ugly, drab, plain and he’s surprised she thinks he doesn’t find her attractive! All throughout the book people are saying this to his face and he says nothing.

It just got worse to. I could have highlighted this whole book with the dickish things he did but the ending. Not to ruin the ending but he basically tells her he doesn’t care what she wants. He’s keeping her with no consideration to her own wants or needs. It gave off total creeper keep you in the basement type energy. How I’m supposed to find a controlling, arrogant dick who doesn’t even ASK is wife what she wants or if she’s happy with them (bc he things she’s not, that she fainted she was so upset about the decision…) I don’t know. This isn’t chivalrous or a turn on. I would have punched him. Oh he made me so unbelievably pissed. I never want the main character to die off but man was I hoping this jackass would.
