Devil's Day by Andrew Michael Hurley

4.0

This was very atmospheric but ended with a whimper rather than a bang, same as his first book. I appreciate that the register of Hurley's writing is very understated and I wasn't expecting some dramatic Satanic ritual at the end, but it definitely feels like all the interesting subplots fizzled out. And Kat's turn around about living on the farm at the end felt totally unrealistic.
