The Fall by Guillermo del Toro
4.0
It had been a while since I read The Strain, and this book picks right up where it left off. Here we see a city rapidly descending into chaos and no one, other than our heroes seem to be aware of it. Which I guess is a common theme in these descent into apocalypse stories.
I particularly love the glimpses we get into Setrakian's past and the life he has dedicated to hunting vampires.
I had two disappointments in this book. Both dealt with character ends that I won't spoil here. I will say that in the first case, it was disappointingly abrupt and in the other....seemingly pointless. Oh well.
