This book is brought to you today by the word "JEALOUSY!"
Jealousy is a funny beast in that it's not strictly the anger of seeing the one you love be friendly with or towards someone else. Here it's presented as the tightrope balance of letting your loved one be free to come out of her shell & actually interact positively with others, while at the same time finding how NOT OK you feel about her seeming to have a good time without you.
Coincidentally, a B-plot with one of the classmates start wondering if she SHOULD be jealous when it comes to seeing other people be happy (?) in their relationships. Because goshdarnit to heck, you enjoy your singleness, but at the same time you're pondering if you might actually be missing out.
Not to mention a character is introduced where he is "different" in some unexplained way and seeing the two lovebirds be so happy together makes his jealousy become a seething hatred. Very curious how this permanently-angry-anime-eyes dude will factor into the rest of the series.
