How to describe Rich... pathetic? Groan. Ick. But Amy, Robin, they're all kind of "ick". Who to root for? I do not know. And yet, they're each relatable in a way to our worst, most base, darkest thoughts - the ones we push away. Hopefully successfully. And yet, Rich is funny, in a wry, dark way. I was surprised every time I laughed even though it was often, because it was so unexpected because it's not common in lit, but on the other hand, ooh yeah, I could imagine those snarky comments popping into my head, although I wouldn't utter them out loud. maybe.
