Lorna Doone by R.D. Blackmore
3.0
A bloated affair, set amidst the wild beauty of 17th-century Exmoor, that is not without a certain charm. The author stays staunchly true to the spirit and lingo of his chosen era and setting - though some of the narrator's sexist attitudes are hard to stomach even as social commentary.
