The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap by Mehrsa Baradaran
4.0
This would be 5 stars but for my personal difficulty with nonfiction. This book is a fascinating and disturbing, deeply researched explanation of the racism in the American economy that created the racial wealth gap and perpetuates it by putting the burden on Black people, communities, and banks to rectify it - notwithstanding the hundreds of years of government support and breaks to white people and clear exclusion of Black people trying time and time again to build wealth. A very strong argument for reparations. Highly recommend.
