🎧AUDIO VERSION🎧 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 performance by Rebecca Soler, Teddy Hamilton
Been in my TBR pile for some time, watching a lot of online chatter about this book. The poor audio quality, the amount of spice blah, blah. I went in without out any super high expectations. Now, after reading I can honestly say, don’t listen to others and dive right on in.
The first issue is audio quality. Yes, the female narrator clearly has a cold, but a great performance nonetheless. The character inflections were great but the pace of the reading was exceptional. It added to the action being developed by the author.
DELIVERY – solid and in the spirit of the text and author’s intent. Timing and pacing is excellent. Varied and not predictable.
ANALYSIS – understands the story arc and characters very well which enhanced the enjoyment of the read,.
CHARACTERISATION – brings to life all the characters. Distinct and consistent in tone, attitude, age, accent. Voices match characters.
SEPARATION- no spillover between narrator and character.
INVESTMENT – emotionally connected and therefore painting a picture vocally.
Level of spice. Honestly it is tame compared to other books out there and was tastefully done and the right time. It didn’t seem forced or placed for the sake of selling books. It is NOT a book I would rank on the level of any smut or spice. Just a good, honest world building story, written well. Worth the read folks.
