In this book we follow Galadriel (El) and her last 2 weeks of third year at Scholomance, a magic school where everything is trying to get you killed. The world building starts from the first page and never stops. I did struggle a little through the first 50ish pages but once I understood how the world worked I forgot I was reading; all the way through I felt like I was there, with El, experiencing everything. I loved the first person narration that felt like I was just chatting with the main character and her telling me of how her life was there. Amazing!
It was such an unexpected 5* read. I've read 2 dark academia books this year before reaching for this one and they were underwhelming to say the least. I finished it today, I have at least 8 other physical books I can read but all I can think of is wanting to run to the shop to pick up the remainder of the trilogy.
