very good, very creepy, very quick dark fantasy. our core group is full of familiar characters, but the author gives a touch of fresh prespective and engaging dialogue so they don't feel stale. there's fabulous development, the plot moves quickly, and the writing is engaging and accessible.
i just do really wish male authors would stop commenting on young girl's developing bodies. i'm really tired of reading about a preteen girl's developing breasts and hips, no matter how "period appropriate" .... men should stop this !!!! let's move on !! it didn't take away my enjoyment too much, obviously, but it was just So Ick in a way that the rest of the body horror wasn't.
