One of the first books I've read and it is extremely emotionally hitting. It has everything from creepiness to jealousy to flashbacks to trauma to moments that make you laugh out loud because of the emotional complexity of every situation. It is written in the first person perspective and that made it extremely easy for me to put myself in every characters shoes. The main protagonists and perspectives are Dugan, Genevieve and Echo. This books has an angsty queer love story with an insane amount of trauma and a similarly traumatic adoptive father-daughter relationship very much in the vein of Lee and Clementine and Joel and Ellie. I should mention this book takes place in post apocalyptic, zombie-like-infested America.
