Thank You for Voting: The Maddening, Enlightening, Inspiring Truth about Voting in America by Erin Geiger Smith

4.0

If you've ever had a question about how any part of the voting process works in the U.S. this is the book for you. It's written in a very accessible and easy to understand manner, so even non political aficionados will be able to easily read this. This book has in depth discussions of how different groups of people earned the right to vote in the US, how polling works, how the media plays a role in elections, why the youth vote is important and why younger people often don't get involved in voting, a clear discussion of the electoral college, and so so much more.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone. I would love to see this used in high schools and colleges to teach people more about how voting works in the U.S. and why it's so important. It's also short and can easily be read in a weekend. Seriously, just go read this book.
