I got half-way through this review but one mis-click ended it all and it did not save, and since I am too tired and too bored to start over, here is the short version:
This book is/has:
1. boring
2. full of religious bullshit
3. badly written (telling, not showing; endless description about simple actions)
4. crappy, unrealistic dialogue
5. 2-D characters who are either all bad, or all good and pathetic either way
6. few female characters and the ones who do exist are horrendously cliched and weak
7. NO character development
8. too much research done for architecture and zero for the actual world/time in which the action takes place
9. a huge fucking disappointment
