The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
5.0
First read: sometime before 2012
Re-read: maybe for the third time? Feb. 2017
Oh gosh. Maybe there's some nostalgia mixed in here, but as I re-read this I just couldn't get over how /freaking good/ this was. Excellent character development, description, super super creative handling of the original elements of the story without going totally off the rails, tension, conflict... Even the romance, which I can be super picky about, was just right; sweet without being too much; important, but not the main focus of the story. I loved this.
