A cute story. As Mira and Izzie prepare for cotillion and Bill Monroe's senate campaign revs up, there is certainly no gossip girl-esque drama. It's like one of those reality TV shows that you can't really relate to, but is fun to watch anyway (or in this case read.) There were some things about this book that felt a little out of place. The cliff hanger, for one, at the end was weird and seemed to come out of nowhere. It didn't relate to anything that happened in this book. Maybe it sets up the next book? But, even then, I don't know why it was included in this book. And I didn't really understand Mira's unrelenting anger against her father. It was worse than Izzie's, even though she's the one that should have been angrier. Also, the main conflict seemed very similar to that of the first book, making it feel unoriginal. Despite these issues, it's still fun and worth the read.
