A Quest of Blood and Stone by S. Usher Evans

4.0

Princess Ayla shall soon be queen, but she worried that her Fae stepmother will cause chaos. Her best friend Cade, who also happens to be a wizard apprentice, is desperate to prove himself - and show Ayla he can be more than just her best friend. Finally, there is Ward, a guard who wants to rise above his station, and who also has feelings for the princess.

Okay, so I actually really liked this book!!! I loved that each of the three protagonists were unique unto themselves. Ayla, Cade, and Ward’s stories intertwined to create a fascinating world full of magic, adventure, and chaos. The world building was solid, and I liked the banter between the characters. This is the perfect book for any young adult fantasy fan!!! I would definitely recommend it to those who like a little bit of magic in their lives.
