I Offer My Heart as a Target / Ofrezco mi corazón como una Diana by Lawrence Schimel, Johanny Vázquez Paz
emotional
reflective
sad
fast-paced
4.5
I loved this collection of poetry, but I would’ve rated it higher if the poems that entailed the poet whining about being called gringa by her peers were excluded. it read very self-pitying in just the worst way 🙄
I did love how this was written in both spanish & english, it was really great practice for me to relearn the language.
favorite poems (no particular order)
- herencias / inheritance
- voz interna / inner voice
- imborrable / uneraseable
