Slow starting book. Slowly but surely the manueverings and sufferings grasp at the characters. At first I nearly bounced off it, but about 1/3 of the way in I was sold. It took that long for the moving pieces to come together in a sword of Damocles hanging overhead everything.
You can see the twists coming from a mile away and Hobb twists the knife in while looking at you firmly in the eyes. Excited to pick up the next.
