The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

3.0

3.5??? potentially idk

holy moly took me about 5 months to finish this book, I finally decided to bang it out in one sitting today because I just purchased two books and I couldn’t fathom the thought of starting them without having finished this one

I kept putting this book down and I can’t understand why because I always enjoyed it when I picked it back up, I think it really slowed down for me when we started going in Henry’s pov, I just wasn’t drawn to him so much

I also mostly enjoyed the all of the passages of the past and of course everything with Luc, how could I fall for Henry when Luc was just right there?? he was like my darkling 2.0, I just can’t resist

I am so happy with the ending, or maybe more satisfied than happy, Henry got to keep his life and was able to share Addie’s life with the world and keep her true memory alive forever, while Luc and Addie ended up together but on her terms where she will have the power and can set herself free in the future, I’m just obsessed with the fact that she was cunning enough to get her power back ugh I just loved the ending and it didn’t go in the basic predictable way of her giving up her life for Henry or at the same time as him, the ending really sold it for me

one thing I hate to say is that it did kind of drag, like there was so much to go through in the last 100 pages that it was kind of like oh, wait, what, how did that even happen or why?? and the answer was kind of quickly thrown in there only for the first 300-400 pages to be documenting some very mundane moments between Addie and Henry

but all in all it was a pretty good book I have to admit, but I’m also just really glad to have finally finished it so I can move on
