The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk

challenging informative reflective slow-paced

4.25

I'm not a huge nonfiction fan, however, every once in a while, I try to add some kind of nonfiction writing to my reading list in hopes of getting some new information. This is an extremely insightful book about the effects of Trauma, how it affects our society, and how we can heal and work to understand it to live fuller, happier lives.

I highly recommend for anyone currently fighting through traumatic events as well as people who are the partners of those working through it. This book will help you understand why we do the things we do and the ways in which we can support ourselves and each other.
