i just finished reading this brilliantly written novel.. my hands are still shaking while i’m typing this and my chest is tightened. my heart is crying and if i wasn’t in public, i would be sobbing along with it. — though, the main antagonist meets a well-deserved end, it doesn’t heal what he’s done. it doesn’t mend what’s been broken and the ending only left me wondering of the two protagonists’ futures.. my eyes are stinging because of the frustration and heartbreak i experienced throughout this book and it hurts me to know that strong, innocent women were burnt alive and beaten over the littlest thing’s centuries ago and even though we women do not experience that amount of physical pain now, we are still targeted and seen as a weak and wicked whole. women still suffer, fight and after reading this book one thing is made sure; i will continue to uplift and fight for women today. my sisters and friends..

if i could give this review 100+ stars, i would!
