Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
5.0
This was 5/5 star for me.
This book was fantastic. And I really enjoyed every detail. However, the movie adaption for this book was terrible and I had to DNF the movie after 59:00 minutes. I mean I love (Keira Knightley) and (Andrew Garfield) but somehow it didn’t click for me because they missed many important details and they changed some of the plot. (Ruth) in the movie was just a disaster. I didn’t like one bit of it.
Even though the movie was pretty much shait, the book was just magnificent for the writing style and the atmosphere of the surrounding that the book build. The characters in this book were reasonable and it affect me in a way I could feel for each one of them.
The book starts with a flashback from our protagonist (Kathy H.) and her life in an orphanage or more like a school with bunch of other students that they study in there. and when they become eighteen years old, they have to leave school for some reason. And I believe that is all you need to know from this book and can’t tell much more about it since there’s so much that you need to experience for yourself when it comes to “Never Let Me Go”.
One more thing worth to mention is that the book was romance genre and it was bit slow paced but it was slow in good way.
Finally, I want to repeat this; if you haven’t watched the movie and please don’t. Read it. And if you had seen the movie and you didn’t like the movie. I believe you won’t appreciate it as much as those who had only read the book.
