Ghosts of the Tsunami: Death and Life in Japan’s Disaster Zone by Richard Lloyd Parry

3.0

I remember this day in March 2011 very well because I was vacationing in Hawaii and spent the night in a rental car up on a hill with my family to avoid the expected tsunami waves. It was only later we heard about the massive tsunami in Japan, and at that time, the news was focused on the nuclear disaster, not the thousands of lives lost from the tsunami itself. This is the story of those lives. With insight into who the people were, the communities that were devastated, and sometimes why, with insight into the Japanese culture.
