I always struggle to review/rate novellas, but I must say, I enjoyed this one!

Four is a collection of four novellas that take place prior and during Divergent, the first book of the trilogy of the same name. Following Tobias, also known as Four, make his faction decision, and through his early days as an initiate and Dauntless member. In addition to this, the book also features three iconic Divergent scenes, told from Four’s perspective.

To be honest, I didn’t really have high hopes for this book, as I found that I wasn’t a big fan of the last two books in the original trilogy when I reread them recently, however I was pleasantly surprised!

I found the four novellas to be really interesting and I really enjoyed reading about Tobias’s past and the events that led him to become the character he becomes. I’d probably say that I liked this book just as much, or maybe even a little bit more, as Divergent and way more than Insurgent and Allegiant.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and I’m glad I finally read it!
