Ughhh Julia really knows how to write hockey romance. Every book in this series I say “this couple is my new favorite” but for real AJ and McCabe are my favorite. While this can be read as a standalone I highly suggest reading the others in the series to familiarize yourself with the Boston Rebels team.
AJ is the definitely of a badass and I mean you kind of have to be when you are the GM of a hockey team and have gone through what she is in her life. She’s fierce and smart but also caring and it all contributes to her successfully leading the team.
McCabe is a closet softie (unless he’s with his daughter). He comes off reserved and gruff as the captain of the team. But once him and AJ clear the air with their previous history and start spending more time together he starts opening himself up more and letting himself be vulnerable.
I loved everything about Cross Checked. Especially the epilogue. They really are my favorite couple and I loved seeing the huge family they have all created with the Boston Rebel players and their significant others and their kids.
