This was actually really good. Surprisingly so. Hero was alpha but forward thinking enough not to be borrish. He was also incredibly sweet too. Heroine was curvy BUT shockingly not hung up on her insecurities because woe is me because I'm chubby attitude. THANK YOU GOD. Or shall I say author? Hah. Ellie was a mature chick who had a few insecurities brought on by an awful mother and sister who sounded like bullies with their own insecurities lashing out IMO. So it was reasonable she had her hang ups but THANKFULLY this gal has a brain and emotional maturity and she figures out her shit in a timely manner without being whiney or over emotional about it. That was lovely IMO. You can barely read a book these days and the heroine be chubby or just plain fat and better watch out y'all because that'll be a huge dark cloud over the whole book because it's always made out to be such a huge deal when it shouldn't be.

So thank you author for writing intelligent female characters, including the secondary ones. Even the supposed mean girl had a heart so that was great.

All in all it had an interesting story, nice pacing without drowning in boring details. The romance was sweet and sexy enough when needed. I was invested in the continuing plot of the series and the other women who was captured. Looking forward to checking out more from this series and author.
