Najwa Zebian: The Collected Poems by Najwa Zebian

The content of these poems was too narrow to appeal to me. It's like listening to a motivational speaker in verse, "love yourself first, be sincere, and don't be afraid to dream." The nine hours doesn't venture much from that.

It's not badly written per se, but it's just not what I was looking for. For poetry, it's not very "poetic". There's not a lot of creative analogies, metaphors, etc. It's mostly straightforward and repeats the same themes over and over again.

If you're looking for self-help poetry, this could be for you. Otherwise, it'll probably be a challenge to make it all the way through the collection.
