Jeanette McCurdy dives into her story about her relationship with her overbearing mother growing up as a child actress. This story opens a door to allow the reader to learn more about Jeanettes struggles and healing journey as she allows herself to be vulnerable to the world through her writing. I'm Glad My Mom Died holds a lot of dark humor that some may find relatable while also heartbreaking. It will send you on an emotional roller-coaster but I would 100% recommend this book as it is well worth the read. Especially for millennials who grew up in the early 2000s Nickelodeon era, there are some stories Jeannette tells in her book that will certainly have your jaws dropped.
