In the Nalini Singh-verse, this book is a 3.5 star for me. In comparison to all the books I’ve read it’s a 4 star. Over my decade of reading this series, this is the book I consistently struggle the most to get into. I don’t know why. It’s got everything a gal should likr:
- trauma and healing
- a morally grey character
- political intrigue
- violence 

Last year I think I rated it a 4 something star and really liked it. This time I’ve read it as a bit clunky and I have no idea why. Brenna irks me but she does get better at the end.

The hyenas are programmed by the Psy to attack SD, the DawnSky deer pack were butchered, Dieter was the one who tried to kill her and they fucked the stock exchange
