You know, this is incredibly different from all of John Green’s previous books, but I really enjoy it. It really flexes Green’s way with words.
Each essay is definitely incredibly personal and incredibly beautiful, and it’s a great foray into non-fiction by a fiction author (and a fiction reader)! Of course, I took a while to finish it, but that was mostly down to the nature of the book - essays that are barely, if at all, interrelated.
This book is a series of personal essays about the author John Green’s experience of different aspects of the Anthropocene (the human-centred world). The essays take the form of reviews, ranking things like sunsets and diet Dr Pepper on a scale from 1 to 5.
