Such a rollercoaster. Written in a letter exchange format, the story sucks you in instantly and it becomes a constant page turner. Very dark themes with an emotional historical setting, the novel also introduces you to heartbreaking events that happened in the past; these are not the main focus of the novel, but they do influence greatly the characters’ position and actions.
I loved the exploration of Celie’s freedom of mind, sexuality and bravery! How she found herself and her inner voice that she repressed for so long.

Only complaint: the ending was a little predictable and missed a lil something. It’s otherwise a brilliant read.
What a ride!!
